PurpleTrain.com offers new BA track

Launched only in April this year, the new BA-track Business Administration program online has already attracted an enthusiastic response.

Endorsed by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), this three-part course offers students direct entry to many accredited universities.

Offered online only through PurpleTrain.com, the track consists of three courses offered at different levels, the Diploma in Business Administration, followed by the Higher Diploma and finally the Advanced Diploma. Entry requirements to each program depend on the student's qualifications.

Mr Raj Singh, Assistant Director, PurpleTrain.com said: " The recognition for this qualification is high as it is endorsed by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. Students graduating from this programme are admitted to many universities directly. Many students want to attain a highly recognised qualification as this but many are not able to as they find it impossible to fit attending physical classes into their busy schedules. Therefore, we have decided to bring this programme online"

PurpleTrain is also in an excellent position to offer this product online. We have been teaching this series of programme for over 10 years in the classroom. Thus we are able to leverage on our extensive experience gained from running these courses in the classrooms to provide an even better product online, added Mr Singh.

All three courses are conducted entirely online. Other than posted online lecture notes, online chat sessions allows interaction with other students.

" The added advantage of the online programme is that it allows a student to interact with other fellow students from all over the world. The different perspectives add to the richness of the education experience.

Discussion rooms with and private e-mails also allow more personal time with the lecturer.

" Many students find it daunting to speak in front of classmates in a classroom setting. Also lecturers in a real classroom often do not have the time to answer all questions. This problem is solved through the use of discussion rooms and private e-mail, " concluded Mr Singh.

Additional features to help the student include chatroom logs and records of topics brought up in the discussion rooms. As part of its function as a comprehensive study management tool, the system also prompts a student on what the last topic studied was as well as sends reminders if a student hasn't logged on for a while.

The next intake will be starting soon in September 2000. Registration is open now. Sign up now, don't miss out on the fast-track to a degree. For more information, contact helpdesk@purpletrain.com or a Thames service centre.
