Enhanced web services from PurpleTrain.com
First, a new-look and easier to navigate website. Now, new online services for
PurpleTrain students ? it has been a continuous process of enhancements on the
PurpleTrain website.
The latest series of enhancements at the site aims to make available at their
fingertips, essential information that will make studying at PurpleTrain.com an
even more user-friendly experience.
Amongst the additional services that have been made available are the :
a)Event calendar which shows on a monthly basis the year's start of course
dates for all course, assignment deadlines and examination dates;
b) Online deferment form where students can submit their requests to defer
courses online, saving them time and bother of having to make numerous phone
calls or physically having to go down to the centres;
c) The course timetable feature allows students to access a customised timetable
for their own courses.
These features are available under the student services section so that even
visitors can access and get the feel of what studying online would be like.
Other customised features have also been made in this round of enhancements.
These features can be found in the classroom page of the course.
a) A 'Must Know" section, where essential section for students such as deadlines
for fee payments, acceptable reasons for course deferments, other fees payable
and all the other information that students will need as they go through the
course.
b) Chat session groupings which allows you to see who your fellow students in
assigned chat room are. The groupings are done for classes with large numbers of
students so that everyone can have the opportunity to give their input and
participate fully in the chat sessions.
c) And finally the assignment box. With this feature, there will be no more "did
the lecturer receive my assignment" doubts. Students can now see for themselves
when they access the assignment box for their course
