On 24 July 2001, PurpleTrain.com received a letter of appreciation from Ms Carol
Lim Phek Nai. A working mother of 3, Carol was then a student of
PurpleTrain.com, pursuing her Diploma in Business Administration (HDBA) by
University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES). Upon completion
of her diploma programme this year, Carol continued her quest for knowledge in
which she signed up for an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (ADBA)

In her letter, Carol not only expressed her gratitude for the assistance granted

prompt support whenever she faced difficulties in her studies. She said: "I am

Currently, Carol serves as a Senior Flight Service Officer at the Civil Aviation
Authority Singapore. Due to shift-work and family commitments, Carol sees
e-learning as "the only window of opportunity" to upgrade herself.
"The thing I like most about e-learning is being able to study at my own time
and pace, therefore saving me the hassle of making arrangements to attend
classes," expressed Carol with great satisfaction.

knowledge for self-enrichment. It has helped me achieved a diploma even at the
age of mid forties which I was doubtful of achieving it. It has therefore
increased my self-esteem," Carol added.

the quest for continual learning. In life, there are no boundaries. The same

In her second email recently, Carol further expressed her appreciation to her
facilitators who are kind and helpful:
- Dr Desti for providing many model answers, notes and questions to help us
understand CMA topics without which there is no way we could understand from the
textbooks and module notes which does not elaborate on how to compute for the
answers.
- Mr Silvester Chan for many bonuses reading materials and many case studies
to help us appreciate OB topics; He is very proactive and really compels me to
do and submit these exercises for him to mark. He gives valuable feedback and
encouragement on my progress, which really motivates me to improve on my work.
- Mr Arthur Soh for his very prompt reply in responding to our queries and
gives meticulous advice for students preparing to sit for examinations.
She also attributed her success to the good team spirit amongst her virtual
classmates. And her key to success: "Discipline and re-scheduling of
priorities!"
Asked on her future plans, she smiled and answered affirmatively: "I wish to
complete my Advanced Diploma by next year and continue my bachelor's degree
online with PurpleTrain.com again!"
