24 October 2001, Singapore International Advisory Panel Formed For Academic Excellence In its continuous effort to improve academic excellence in Informatics, an International Advisory Panel (IAP) was recently formed. The IAP is represented by a group of respected and experienced academic leaders drawn from universities in the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States of America. The IAP panel members bring with them a wide range of educational leadership and management experience. The main role of the IAP is to advise the management of Informatics on strategic academic matters. The terms of reference include advice on academic policies, systems and procedures, curriculum design and development, teaching, assessment practice and standards and e-learning. The panel meets collectively at least once a year. Occasionally members make visits to Informatics HQ in Singapore and/or any of the networks of Informatics centres located in 33 countries. A panel of eight members currently represents the IAP.
