Czech Republic Minister and Business Delegates Visit Informatics/PurpleTrain.com
Informatics/PurpleTrain.com had the great privilege to welcome the Minister and Head of the Office of the Czech Government, Mr Karel Brezina, his officials and a team of business delegates from the Czech Republic.
The delegates visited the Informatics Corporate Headquarters in Singapore on 5 October 2001. Mr Brezina was accompanied by a group of business delegates who were keen to explore the business opportunities with Informatics and how it would contribute to the Czech economy and its various industries.
Of particular interest to Mr Brezina was e-learning. E-Learning provided by PurpleTrain.com, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Informatics Group, provides flexible, convenient learning at an affordable cost without the opportunity cost of having to leave their country or do full-time study.
Commenting on the potential market for e-learning in the Czech Republic, he said, “Of the 10 million population in Czech Republic, 8 million are potential customers of e-learning, since it’s an excellent way for them to obtain their qualifications without having to leave the country.”

The visit to Informatics/PurpleTrain.com was organised by the Singapore Trade Development Board. The visit was timely, in view of Senior Minister Lee’s recent mention of Informatics, citing Informatics as a role model for companies in Singapore to branch out their business globally, but also due to the Informatics contributions to Singapore’s IT industry via education and its wide range of computing and business programmes.
The list of Officials Delegation include among others Deputy Minister and Deputy Head of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, the Director of the Minister’s Office, the Chairman and Director of the Office for Public Information System (OPIS) and a team of 14 businessmen from ORACLE, Hewlett- Packard. REUTERS Agency, UNICORN, ICZ, GOPAS, POSAM, DEBIS IT Services, eBanka, and etc.
With the very fruitful session with Mr Brezina and the business delegates, PurpleTrain is set to starting up future business partnerships in Czech Republic.
