Over 96% Passing Rate for Human Computer Interaction

WELL DONE Mr. Karuppan Palaniappan!

PurpleTrain BSc (Hons) in Computing Degree programme of University of Portsmouth students who took the IT356 Human Computer Interaction exam in previous sitting last year passed at a rate of 96.4%. By way of comparison, the average passing rate for IT356 is 76.22%.

The next exam result release date will be in February 2002. Students who took the exam in December 2001 can expect an email notification on the result release date in mid February.

PurpleTrain recognises the contribution of its online facilitator in helping its pool of e-learners in their academic achievement. In view of the outstanding performance of its online facilitator, Mr. Karuppan Chettiar Palaniappan who facilitates module IT356, he was rewarded with a free trip to Genting Highlands in Malaysia.

Mr. Palaniappan holds a Master of Science in Computer Science Degree and Master of Philosophy in Computer Science Degree. He has extensive experience in teaching. He worked as a lecturer in India for 6 years
and has a total teaching experience of 10 years. Mr. Palaniappan joined Informatics in 1999 and has since contributed to teaching in some of the courses from University of London, University of Central England and RMIT University, with particular emphasis on software engineering.

In mid 2000, he came across PurpleTrain.com which changed the direction of his life. The possibilities that open up with the booming of the Internet which allows knowledge transfer via a series of online activities motivated him to take up the challenge as an online facilitator.
