Informatics First To Offer Interest Free Education Payment Scheme with
Arab-Malaysian

KUALA LUMPUR - Informatics Group Malaysia recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Arab-Malaysian Bank Berhad (AMBB) to offer an Interest Free Education Payment Scheme through the soon-to-be-launched RinggitClub MasterCard programme. This marked Informatics' standing as the first private institution of higher education in Malaysia to offer such a benefit to the Malaysian public.

"With this Interest Free Education Payment Scheme, members of the public who register for courses with Informatics Group Malaysia, regardless of on-campus or on-line learning programmes, will enjoy up to 6 months of interest-free instalment payments," said Anthony Lee, executive director of Informatics Group Malaysia. He further said that the Interest Free Education Payment Scheme would save students 5 to 10% in tuition fees and also offer them the easier alternative of monthly payments.

Aside from the traditional taught mode programmes, the global Informatics Group also offers e-learning through PurpleTrain.com. The Interest Free Education Payment Scheme applies to all its e-learning programmes which is highly recommended and promoted by the Informatics Group to cater to the needs of today’s learners. PurpleTrain offers a wide array of quality training and education programmes in the areas of Information Technology and Business Studies. Its education programmes range from certificates to postgraduate degrees.

Education is one of the foremost pillars of nation building. In line with its ongoing efforts in supporting the Government in making Malaysia a centre for academic excellence, Arab-Malaysian Banking Group hence initiated the Interest Free Education Payment Scheme. Planned since last year, the scheme is a special feature in the RinggitClub MasterCard programme by AMBB, a member of the Arab-Malaysian Banking Group, one of the largest banking groups in Malaysia.

Present at the signing ceremony was Jason Ko, the chief executive office of Salaint Intelligence Sdn Bhd, the co-brand partner of RinggitClub MasterCard. According to Jason, "Another unique feature of this scheme is that unlike many conventional education loans, the scheme does not require any guarantor and collateral which will certainly cut down the lengthy processing time. And it is readily available to any holder of the RinggitClub MasterCard." In addition, Jason added that the card member, in place of the guarantor, would not need to be a relative of the student. It would be a good means for parents or adult learners to pay for their children's or their own course fees. Cardholders would also receive a special "AMBonus" that rewards them in cash for every ringgit in tuition fees or anything else they pay with the card.

Explaining the reason for Informatics embarking on such a positive collaboration, Anthony said, "We, at Informatics are fully committed in helping our students achieve the highest level and the best quality in education."

He added, "Through this special scheme, parents and adult learners can now pay for their course fees in six interest-free monthly instalments, hence providing them tremendous saving and lessening their financial burdens."
