Another 198 e-learners graduated from Bachelor of Science in Computing (Honours) degree programme through e-learning with PurpleTrain.com ~ a record-size in 2001 graduating class. This has again registered another break through in the history of Purple.com with the highest number of graduates at one time. Out of the 198 graduates who have crowned achievements in e-learning, two graduated with a First Class Honours Degree. They are Heriyanto Lai of Malaysia (Kuching) and Chong Man Kit of Hong Kong (Tung Chung). PurpleTrain and the University of Portsmouth would like to take this opportunity to extend its heartiest congratulations to all its graduates. The BSc. (Hons) Computing degree course is one of the University of Portsmouth's Division flagship courses. “This is also the first and only programme available totally online when we first launch PurpleTrain.com in 1999,” said Rajinder Singh, Assistant Director of PurpleTrain.com. “To date, a total of 328 e-learners graduated from the University of Portsmouth’s BSc in Computing Degree. Our graduates come from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, China, India and Pakistan amongst others.” The University of Portsmouth (UOP), with a record of 132 years of higher education has been rated one of the Top 100 Universities in the UK according to the Financial Times 100 league table published in 2001. It has therefore maintained its commitment in promoting academic excellence across a wide range of disciplines. The UK government also conferred the "Quality Assurance Agency" award upon UOP basing on a full range of criteria of curriculum design, content and organisation, teaching, learning and assessment, student support and guidance, and learning resources, resulting in the emergence of UOP as one of the top universities in UK.
