According to the results of a survey conducted by the Hong Kong Census
and Statistics Department from April to June 2001, there were some
1.26 million households having at least one PC at home at the time when
the survey was carried out and this constituted 61% of all the households
in Hong Kong. The survey also revealed that among those 1.26 million households
having a PC at home, some 1.01 million households had connected their
PCs (excluding PDAs) to the Internet accounting 80% of all households
in Hong Kong.
In fact, the percentage of persons in Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region (HKSAR) having used a PC along with the Internet was the highest
among young people in South China, including Taiwan, particularly those
of school age. Another recent report conducted by NetValue, the
global leading research firm in Jan 2002 indicated males and students
aged 15-24 were the two leading Internet users groups of users in Taiwan,
Korea and Hong Kong. The below chart shows the rising figures of Internet
users in Asia.

So what else could a PC do besides playing online games, icq-ing, web
surfing or online shopping? If you have a PC at home or in the office
connected to the Internet, you can now earn a bachelor and master degree
