Important changes to the UOW MBA programme |
Attention all PurpleTrain students, please note that there are some important changes to the Coursework and Assessment criteria in the UOW MBA programme.
With effect from August 02 term, the assessment criteria for the UOW MBA programme will be adjusted as follows:
| Existing | New |
| 30% Assignment | 25% Assignment |
| 70% Written Final Examination | 65% Written Final Examination |
| | 10% Participation |
How is Participation Mark derived?
The new assessment structure has an added 'participation' component and it is assessed with the following criteria:
Here is how the participation mark is arrived at.
The participation mark component has a weight-age of 10%. The participation mark is awarded by each facilitator and comprises of the following components:
- Attendance of and participation* in the scheduled chat sessions.
*Participation in the chat sessions means the extent to which you actively participate in the discussions during the chat sessions.
- Participation in the postings of questions and responding to questions posted in the discussion rooms. Points to be considered by facilitators in all postings made include:
- Did the student make additional useful and insightful contributions?
- What was the level of understanding and insight shown by the student in the postings and
discussions? Did they contribute to the depth of understanding of others?
The 'Participation Mark' will only be applicable to students who are taking a module on or after the August 02 start of class and students MUST be taking the module as a 'FRESH' candidate. This means that if a student is taking the module on or after August 02 as a 'REFER' candidate, there will NOT be any 'participation marks' taken into consideration.
