The Curtin BBA Programme
The programme is designed to prepare students for practical work in the Business Administration environment. In line with real world needs, the objectives of the course are:
- To provide a basic knowledge of business concepts in organisational procedures and
methodologies.
- To provide the specific administrative and accounting skills required for the practical understanding of the use in the business environment and to introduce analytical and
design techniques sufficient for today’s business thinking.
- To provide an introduction to business organisation and systems, in an Asian and
international perspective.

Besides exposing students to various core disciplines in business, it offers them special opportunities. These come in the form of
- industry/organisation-based project work
- an opportunity to apply these concepts to their own work environment
- international study (students are able to gain an exposure and understanding of work in a different context)
- the choice of specialising in an area such as one of the following - management, small business and entrepreneurship, human resource and international management
Those wishing to further their academic career may proceed to a specialist postgraduate program, for example, marketing, educational administration, human resource management, international and/or public sector management.
Programme Duration
- For Year 1, the minimum duration is 12 months and the maximum duration is 3 years
- For Year 2, the minimum duration is 12 months and the maximum duration is 5 years
- For Year 3, the minimum duration is 12 months and the maximum duration is 5 years
Entry Requirements
Year 1 (Thames Higher Diploma in Business Administration)
- 2 GCE 'A' levels and 3 GCE 'O' levels or equivalent
- Mature candidates (above 21 years of age) with at least 2 years of relevant working experience
- Thames Diploma in Business Administration.
Year 2 (Thames Advanced Diploma in Business Administration)
- Thames Higher Diploma in Business Administration (HDBA)
- Applicants with alternative qualifications will receive substantial credit exemptions and/or need to take some subjects from Thames ADBA
Year 3 (Curtin University of Technology Bachelor of Business Administration)
- Thames Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (ADBA)
- Other Diplomas/Higher Diplomas/Advanced Diplomas from related fields*
- Applicants for whom English is a second language must provide evidence of English Proficiency. Either a score of at least 550 (written version) or 213 (computer version) on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or an equivalent IELTS score (Overall 6.0).
* Subject to acceptance by Curtin University of Technology on a case-to-case basis.
Advancement after completion of Course
Students can get the opportunity to pursue a Masters programme.
