PurpleTrain.com is learner centered because students can explore and navigate to information based on their interests as well as their levels of competency. They can work individually, at their own pace, on their own time.

Students can collaborate in problem-solving activities, discussions and exercises that result in the creation of new knowledge. This new knowledge is captured and stored in PurpleTrain.com. PurpleTrain.com is designed to support the delivery of a course in which students do not meet face-to-face as well as to augment those course offerings which do include some face-to-face interaction.

Research demonstrate that to satisfy diverse learning situations, a flexible, integrated suite is needed that combined instructor structure, learner centered content management and access, a virtual space for Learning Team Centered collaboration.
