Good News for PurpleTrain.com's Advanced Diploma in Computing Students!

In line with offering greater flexibility and more options for its students, PurpleTrain.com is proud to announce the launch of the newly repackaged Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Computing.

Specially designed for students who hold GCE 'A' Level qualifications or its equivalent, the Diploma in Computing (DIC) course allows students to attain a more in-depth understanding in the areas of computing and information technology. Upon completion of the Diploma in Computing, students will proceed on to the Advanced Diploma in Computing (ADIC).

Upon completion of the ADIC, students now have an additional pathway to universities. With this new structure, students may choose to pursue their degree through the University of Portsmouth (Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computing) and also through another prestigious UK university, the University of Wales (Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Computing & Information Technology programme).

NCC Education, one of the world's leading IT qualification-awarding bodies, will continue to validate both programmes; this assures students that the quality and academic standard of these courses are not compromised.

The repackaging of the respective programmes will neither affect the academic intentions nor the objectives of the units concerned, rather, it allows students more flexibility in choice. In the current DIC programme, students have to complete 8 core compulsory modules. With the repackage of the DIC programme, students will have to complete 6 core modules and are allowed the flexibility to choose 2 electives from 4 options.

"This is definitely good news! I'm delighted to have more modules now to choose from instead of having to take the standard ones. I believe I will be motivated to do better in something I'm interested in!" Norjuliawati Bte Mohd from Malaysia commented. She is a current student of the Advanced Diploma in Computing student and works as an Assistant Programmer in an IT firm.

Existing DIC and ADIC students are required to convert their studies to the new structure as soon as possible to enjoy the flexibility the programmes offer. The current structure will be phased out eventually. Current modules will be offered for the last time in October 2003 with the last examinations to be held in August 2004. Students will unquestionably continue to enjoy all the benefits of e-Learning offered by PurpleTrain.com which allow them to pursue academic qualifications at their own time and convenience.
