20 year old Kun Fang is a modern
man who straddles both east and west very comfortably is someone
who practises Tai Ji, plays basketball and enjoys listening to American
soul music. So then it comes as no surprise then that he is studying
with all-American Salem International University in China. In fact,
Kun Fang enjoys his studies so much that he says he's "fallen
in love with SIU." "It is different with from the local university in China. The textbooks have a global approach and do not merely relate to the local context. I also get along very well with my lecturer who is a very good teacher and is like a friend to me." e-Learning is a whole lot of fun according to Kun Fang and he enjoys it more than the traditional mode of classroom learning. While he admits that learning online at one's own pace may be daunting at first, he thinks that this is better way to study. In addition, he also chose to study with SIU because of the flexibility to plan his own study timetable, the reasonably short duration of two years to obtain his degree, affordable fees and the opportunity mix with other international students from around the world. When asked what his plans for the future are, Kun Fang replied that he hopes to work for a company like National Geographic.
