Salem International University Accepts MSCE as Credit Transfer for the Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Sciences

With the continual upgrading of skills and life long learners more actively pursing certification and other higher education qualifications, Salem International University (SIU) accepts the transfer of credits of students pursuing Microsoft Credited Software Engineering program (MCSE) into its Bachelor of Science in Computer & Information Systems accredited by North Central Association (NCA).

The MCSE credential is one of the most widely recognised technical certifications in the industry. Students of the MSCE program can substitute for any 4 courses (19 credits) of the following list of modules required for completion in the B.Sc. in & Information Systems program:

  • MAT181 Analytic Geometry & Calculus II
  • ENG200 Technical Writing
  • CSC202 Internet Publishing
  • CSC210 PC Hardware/ Software Design
  • CSC220 User Support Systems
  • CSC310 Information Systems
  • CSC300 Advanced Software
  • CSC320 Structured System Analysis
  • CSC410 Business Computer Networks
  • CSC420 Computer Security

"SIU's degree students will have a strong grasp of theory and critical thinking skills - a vital foundation. Training for MCSE certification will also provide the practical experience necessary to secure a high-paying job," commented Dr. Arthur Linkins, SIU Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.

With Salem's mission to educate a world citizen, the program equips graduates with I.T knowledge with a global perspective that would be valuable for their careers in I.T related arenas.

The SIU Bachelor of Science is suited for students who would like to obtain an American degree but face financial or time constraints. The flexible mode of delivery allows all undergraduates to juggle their studies with other commitments.
