It was formed in 2002 to act as an independent, international awarding body to ensure that all its awards bear the quality assurance marks which are internationally recognised and accepted by employers and universities for employment and credit transfers respectively.

Informatics Academy works closely with NCC Education Ltd, wholly-owned subsidiary of Informatics Holdings Ltd, to offer diploma programmes. On its own, Informatics Academy also has its own range of qualifications from diploma to postgraduate degrees, which are recognised worldwide. It also offer students with avenues to internationally recognised qualifications pathways that provide great flexibility for students to complete the programmes according to their study preferences.
