The pathway to become an Online Internet Foundation Specialist

The Internet Certification programme is a portfolio of specifically designed courses aimed at providing students with the applicable knowledge and skill-set to become a "Skilled Certified Internet Professional". The Internet Certification Programme is conducted in conjunction with the iGeneration Internet Certification examinations and Internet Talent Network.

The iGeneration Professional Certification Program™ has the approval of the industry's largest professional organization, the Association of Internet Professionals (AIP). iGeneration offers courses and exams that meet the high programme standards established by AIP industry experts. To bridge the gap between the supply and demand for skilled internet professionals, iGeneration created the Internet Talent Network to offer career guidance, skills assessment, training, certification, financial aid and job placement programmes for people set to embark on an internet career.

Unlike other training and certification programmes, the NCC Internet Certification offers students more than tools training. It offers students applicable foundation knowledge, vendor-specific tools training and vendor-neutral project skills.

The Internet Certification Streams & Courses

NCC Education has defined the roles, responsibilities and skills required for specific Internet careers, and then designed and developed Internet Certification streams to cater to them:

The Online Internet Foundation Specialist course

Course Structure

• Foundation Internet Skills (Duration - 1 week)
  
  The class is aimed at people who use the Internet, but who may not fully understand how Web sites actually work. It provides both entry-level technicians and non-technical Internet development team members (such as project managers, editors and marketing leads) with a broad overview of the concepts and technologies involved in Internet development.
  
  
• Building Web Documents with HTML (Duration - 1 week)
  
  This hands-on class teaches beginners basic concepts and skills for designing and developing Web pages using HTML 4.0. Students learn the primary business uses for Internet, extranet and intranet sites and how to best build documents for them.
  
  
• Internet Technologies: Teams and Technologies (Duration - 1 week)
  
  The course introduces the Web Interaction Model, a conceptual model of the Web, to teach students to identify the many layers of a Web site and how they interact. This model approaches the Web site development process layer by layer-from what the user sees on the front end down to the hardware and network infrastructure on the back end.

Assessment and Award

• Assessment is 100% project based. Students are required to successfully complete the assigned project.
  
  
• All students completing an IC course will be awarded a SkillsDiploma in Internet Certification from NCC Education.
